Gas piping is a critical, but often under appreciated component of many industrial or residential heating systems. The reason it is often under appreciated is that it seems to be an easy job almost anyone can do. Some contractors think that almost anyone can learn to cut gas pipe to length, thread the ends and assemble a simple home heating system with a few hours of training. And, as long as the pressure tests have been done, and a building inspector signs off on it, what's the big deal? Here's the big deal: Not everyone can correctly size your gas pipe system for your specific needs. Sure, simple home systems consisting of a few feet of pipe feeding a furnace and a hot water tank seem within the grasp of even the newest apprentice. But a custom residential installation with two furnaces, a couple of tankless water heaters, a gas dryer, gas range, dual ovens, gas barbecue, two fireplaces and a hot tub can be a complicated task for experienced installers. Incorrectly installed, it can be a continual annoyance at best and a danger at worst. For instance, an improperly sized gas pipe to your tankless water heater can prevent the heater from operating correctly and may void your warranty. Gas piping must be correctly sized to handle the load your system will require. It must be installed to Uniform Plumbing Code or the International Mechanical Code piping size standards. It's so important, the city of Seattle requires a special gas pipe license to do the work. Zuiderweg's experienced installers follow the codes to correctly size your system, ensuring the correct gas pressure reaches every valve. That way, when your double ovens are roasting turkeys, your gas range is boiling potatoes, and the hot tub fires up, your furnace will still have enough gas to keep your home toasty warm, even if someone decides to dry a load of laundry at the same time. Of course, industrial applications simply magnify the risks involved in correctly sizing your gas piping system. Zuiderweg installs commercial gas lines of any size. We install threaded, welded, fused and mechanical jointed pipe; rigid and flexible pipe from massive distribution lines to in-house supply lines. Whether you are feeding gas boilers, commercial furnaces, commercial ovens or running a commercial laundry, we've got you covered. Sometimes gas lines must run underground to get everywhere they need to go. What then? Other contractors will often dig a trench through your beautiful landscaping, driveway or sidewalks, bury iron pipe wrapped in plastic tape and call it good. Why? Because it's cheaper for them to do it that way. The building inspector will even sign off on such an installation. But then you're left with the mess and cost of repairing the damage and replacing your landscaping and driveway. Zuiderweg's answer: flexible High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) gas pipe running underneath your valuable landscaping or concrete driveway. We'll dig a hole at each end of the underground run and then bore a hole between them, pulling the gas pipe along as we go. Then we'll make all the connections, fill in the holes and replace any disturbed landscaping. Hospitals, doctor's offices, nursing homes and commercial retail malls have already chosen Zuiderweg to complete their projects. You can trust us to do a great job for you too.
